Potomac Electric Corp. occupies the Engineering Building in the historical Sturtevant Manufacturing Plant, located in Boston, Massachusetts. The plant, renowned for the invention and manufacture of electrical fans and airplanes, has a history spanning 130 years. Massachusetts Aviation Historical Society- Sturtevant
The first American airplane specifically designed for battle was prototyped in our building. During its heyday, over 3,000 people worked at the plant. Potomac Electric kept the spirit of innovation started by Sturtevant and later continued by Westinghouse Electric.

Our company was founded in 1992. We develop innovative electric motors, control electronics and complex electromechanical systems for industrial and military applications.
Today Potomac Electric has three divisions that provide products and services around the world in the areas of:
Design and manufacturing of servomotors, servo amplifiers, variable speed motors, drives and components.
Aftermarket repair, refurbishment and replacement of motors and control systems used in industrial automation.
